Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its result. We do not retain or log those search terms on our own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be kept long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, servers may automatically record basic technical and usage details:
- Page-view dates, times, and visit length
- The device's assigned IP address
- Browser type and version
- Device category and operating system
- Pages viewed during the visit
- A referring site, when one supplied the visit
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved on a device. They and analytics services help combine traffic data, such as which resources receive visits and where browsing sessions end. A browser can reject or remove cookies, though disabling them may change how some functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a submitted query to the selected search provider
- Operating the site and maintaining reasonable load times
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- Understanding which resources visitors use
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Hawkins County Criminal History does not keep, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It describes official routes through the Hawkins County sheriff and courts, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into a third-party criminal dossier or consumer report, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies supply the search tools. Their privacy terms, retention periods, and disclosure rules apply to data entered there. We do not control those practices, so review the provider's policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Hawkins County government, Tennessee agencies, courts, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows an outbound link, the destination's policy controls. Check it before providing personal information.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to follow activity across sites and select ads. Their tracking is governed by their policies.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may still be available to these limited categories:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search providers chosen to process a submitted query
- Advertising networks serving content on the pages
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards protect collected data. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, however, and we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If such information is identified, it will be deleted.
Your Data Rights
Privacy and consumer-protection rights vary by residence and may supplement the choices below. Tennessee's Public Records Act, Tenn. Code Ann. § 10-7-503, governs access to state and local government records; it does not turn this private site into a government custodian. A visitor may:
- Request deletion of personal information we retain
- Ask what personal information is held about them
- Seek correction of inaccurate information
- Object to certain processing where applicable
